Background

At Mashup Camp 2, we had 2 sessions on better access control and personalization techniques for RSS (and other) feeds, thinking of non-browser user agents (e.g. mashups) as the clients. Participants felt that this issue is urgent and needs to be solved rather quickly, as it represents a substantial obstacle for business-viable mashups.

There was general agreement to continue the discussion after Mashup Camp, and rss-extensions.org (plus mailing list) may just be the place to do it.

Summary of the discussion at Mashup Camp is here: http://wiki.mashupcamp.com/index.php/AccessControl
